Ashley Griffin's (creator of the pop culture phenomenon Forever Deadward) new play The Shadowlands will have a premier industry reading at La MaMa on Thur. November 9th produced by the THML Theater Company.

An explosively compelling new play, The Shadowlands begins the day after the Orlando shooting, and follows Matt - a visionary, grief stricken young man whose attempts to rectify the wrongs done to him causes his life to intersect with three groups of extremists: a collection of right wing conservative politicians, a liberal who goes off the deep end and an underground collective of Islamic terrorists, with his encounters and subsequent decisions putting the fate of his soul, and indeed the entire world at stake. Incorporating elements of magical realism, this controversial new play explores what it means to be a human being living in our current political and cultural climate.

The Shadowlands will have an industry reading at La MaMa (47 Great Jones St, 10003) on Thur. Nov. 9th from 1:00-5:00. Admittance by RSVP only. Please e-mail thmltheatre@gmail.com.

Written by Ashley Griffin (Forever Deadward, Trial). Directed by Kayla Friend (Artistic Director, THML Theater Company, Where Angels Fear To Tread). Produced by THML Theater Company and featuring: Rosalie Burke* (The Glorious Ones), Kuros Charney* (Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo), Walid Chaya (The Blacklist), Ryan Clardy* (One Life To Live), Ashley Griffin* (Hamlet, NYIT Award Nominations), Priyanka Krishnan (The Importance of Being Earnest), and Malcolm Stephenson* (The Sisters Rosenswig).
