The Capitol Center for the Arts presents LUMA: Art in Darkness Thursday, April 14, at 7:30pm. Tickets for this family-friendly and mesmerizing evening of illuminated illusions start at $25 and are on sale now.

With high and low technology, Luma: Art in Darkness presents shadowed performers who utilize brilliant images of color and motion, playing upon the persistence of vision that comes with the interplay of shadow & light. The show has been seen in 15 countries and taps into the universal draw that all living things have towards light. Combining rhythmic gymnastics, dance, magic, puppetry, physics, and experimental methods, LUMA is a singular experience that mesmerizes and mystifies, leaving audiences full of wonder. Take the giant leap into a surreal world of light, color, and motion... where thinking stops and astonishment begins. Step to the precipice of your imagination as LUMA leaves your body in the dark and takes you out of your mind.

Tickets are $45 Gold Circle, $35 Front Orchestra, and $25 Rear Orchestra and are available by calling 603-225-1111, online at www.ccanh.com, and at the box office, located at 44 South Main Street, Concord, NH 03301, on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Melissa Staroszik

Canadian native Melissa Staroszik is a delectable combination of class and sex appeal. This Business School graduate has graced the stage before pop culture greats; Lady Gaga, Akon, Will.I.AM, Black Eyed Peas, Girlicious & Cascada; has recently appeared in Pharrell's music video "Happy" and has toured the world as a specialty performer and dancer. A champion Rhythmic Gymnast, Dancer and Aerialist, Melissa keeps audiences sassed, stimulated and seriously entertained. Not only a seasoned performer and athlete, Melissa's unique beauty adorns countless billboards, print materials and merchandise.

Melanie Cresson

Triple threat perfectly describes this raven-haired beauty. She has danced for artists including; Avril Lavigne, The Stripe Coats, DJ Smart from SYTYCD and Ronan Koresh and is an original member of the LA Follies based in Los Angeles. She has appeared on the promo for season three of American Horror Story and has modeled for the Wolff Fording Dance Costume Catalog. Melanie is also a recent graduate of the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA with a BFA in Jazz Dance Performance as well as a minor in Film and Digital Video Production.

Lisa Kapchinske

Lisa has been performing since she was a child. She infuses her classical dance background with hip hop, b-girling, and acrobatics, creating a unique style. Lisa performed off-Broadway for the New York Fringe Festival and has been featured in Rita Ora, Debbie Gibson and The White Panda's music videos as well as live performances for Mario, Trey Songz and LA Clippers. She can also be seen as Betty White's break dance double on NBC. Lisa currently performs with All Wheel Sports, Antics and Show Off Dolls in Los Angeles, CA and is thrilled to share her passion for movement with the world!

Sarah Lleon

Hailing from Paris, France, Sarah is a pint-sized performer with a ton of pizzazz. After dominating the French entertainment industry for years, she took a leap of faith and relocated to Los Angeles in 2013. Sarah has worked with some of the top choreographers and producers in Europe including Nathalie Lucas, Tokyo, Tarek Aitmeddour, David Pagliaroli and Pascal Obispo. She has danced in a number of theater shows including Disney's Tarzan La Rencontre, Jungle Book The Musical, and appeared in Garnier Fructis' "Evolution of Style 2? commercial.

Jessie Levine

Jessie's journey with movement and performance began when she was just five years old. Born and raised in San Francisco, she competed as a gymnast for many years and by the time she was in high school was fully immersed into dance. Jessie continued her training under the University of California, San Diego dance department where she danced with her college dance team for four years. Since graduating from UCSD Jessie has continued to explore all aspects of movement and performance. Jessie now calls Los Angeles home where she is a top yoga and barre fitness instructor and dances with Culture Shock LA.

Elizabeth Ann Poinsette

Elizabeth is a self-starter with distinct goals and aspirations. Elizabeth spent her childhood in Houston, Texas training as a competitive gymnast and at fourteen years old, inspired by her brother, began dancing. Elizabeth has since competed with the North Harris Performing Arts Company in Texas, earned an Associates Degree in Musical Theater from The American Musical and Dramatic Academy and has trained with the London Studio Center in the UK, Zero Gravity and LA Dancers and Choreographers.

Monique Ziering

Born and raised in Los Angeles, this tall glass of water taught herself to ride a bike at only two years old! At eight years old Monique was inspired by Olympic Gymnastics and began training in Rhythmic Gymnastics. Monique advanced quickly to compete as an elite Gymnast ranking in the top ten nationally. After retiring from competition, she studied dance at Santa Monica College under the direction of Ron Brown where she fell in love with the Horton style of modern dance. In addition to performing with LUMA Theater, Monique performs with LA Follies and trains with Zero Gravity in Los Angeles.
