LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS To Open At Pioneer Theatre Company
The carnivorous plant musical runs at Pioneer Theatre Company under the direction and choreography of Gerry McIntyre.
Pioneer Theatre Company’s second show of the 65th Anniversary Season, Little Shop of Horrors, is currently running through November 7th.
Little Shop of Horrors features Book & Lyrics by Howard Ashman, Music by Alan Menken. Based on the film by Roger Corman, Screenplay by Charles Griffith. The production is Directed & Choreographed by Gerry McIntyre with Music Direction by Helen Gregory.
Based on the 1960 low budget Roger Corman horror movie (starring Jack Nicholson!), this cult classic musical is a perennial favorite and is currently enjoying a hugely successful Off-Broadway revival in New York. Little Shop of Horrors is the story of a beleaguered flower shop assistant who discovers a strange carnivorous plant that thrives on (gulp) human blood! With a score by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman (of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid fame) and featuring hit songs like “Somewhere That’s Green,” “Suddenly Seymour,” as well as the title song, it’s a monster hit!
