Theatre veterans and film stars Kevin Kline and Meryl Streep will star in A Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor on June 2nd at 8 PM at the Hollywood Bowl (2301 North Highland Avenue).

Also featuring Tim Russell, Sue Scott, Fred Newman and Guy's All-Star Shoe Band, with Streep (who will be seen this summer in Mother Courage in Central Park), Kline, Virginia Madsen and John C. Reilly as special guests. "America's favorite storyteller, Garrison Keillor, brings us The News From Lake Wobegon plus special guests for a live performance of the ever-popular radio show. It's an evening of music, storytelling, comedy and down-home fun," state press notes for the evening, which will be hosted by Keillor.

The Hollywood Bowl evening is timed to celebrate the release of the upcoming Robert Altman (Gosford Park, Nashville, M.A.S.H.) film, which features a screenplay by Keillor based on his own story that centers around the last broadcast of a beloved radio show, as well as the country music singers that appear on it. In addition to Streep, Kline, Madsen and Reilly, it will star Lily Tomlin, Lindsay Lohan, Matthew Modine, Woody Harrelson, Tommy Lee Jones and more. The film is set for a June 9th release date.
