Kids from Children's Acting Academy of NY to Perform for EARTH DAY NEW YORK at Grand Central, 4/22

Young performers from New York's acclaimed Children's Acting Academy of New York will participate in this year's EARTH DAY NEW YORK activities at Grand Central's Vanderbilt Hall on Monday, April 22 (Earth Day) at 4 PM, it was announced by Mimi Stuart, Artistic Director of the Childrens Acting Academy of New York (CAA). The young performers will preview musical numbers from CAA's next two productions - Bye Bye Birdie and Annie Kids. They will also perform other musical numbers and show tunes. This will mark the third successive year that members of the Children's Acting Academy have been invited to participate in Earth Day New York events at Grand Central's Vanderbilt Hall.

The CAA productions of Bye Bye Birdie and Annie Kids will be presented at the Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theatre at Symphony Space, 2537 Broadway at 95th Street in Manhattan. Bye Bye Birdie will be presented for four performances on Friday, May 17, at 7:30 PM, Saturday, May 18, at 2 PM and 7:30 PM and and Sunday, May 19, at noon; Annie Kids, performed by the youngest members of the Children's Acting Company, will be presented for three performances on Sunday, June 9 at 11 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm Tickets for all performances are $20 and may be ordered at www.symphonyspace.org.

Bye Bye Birdie is presented through special arrangements with Tams Witmark Music Library, Inc., and Annie Kids is presented through special arrangements with Music Theatre International (MTI).

Founded in 1972, The Children's Acting Academy is designed for talented youngsters who are interested in learning how to act and sing from industry professionals or who wish to build self confidence in their abilities to succeed in life. Acting classes feature instruction, observation and performance from professionals working on Broadway and on TV, film and radio and they also experience the business of show business by meeting with agents, managers and casting directors, touring TV studios and working on auditioning with theatre veterans.

The Children's Acting Academy has three New York branches - one located at 131 West 72nd Street on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, and the other two in Westchester County at Westchester Yoga Arts, 82 Centre Avenue, in New Rochelle and at The Westchester Dance Academy, 350 Lexington Avenue, in Mount.
