This week's guest is legendary Broadway, television, film star, and author Kaye Ballard.

Kaye Ballard is an extraordinary gifted singer and comedienne. She appeared in many national tours, as well as the London revue Touch and Go before making her New York, Broadway debut as "Helen of Troy" in The Golden Apple, introducing, what has become a standard, "LazyAfternoon".

Her offbeat, sexy look, wicked comic timing and a socko belt voice brought Ballard rave reviews. After starring on the road inReuben Reuben. she appeared in a revival of The Ziegfeld Follies . That same year, Ballard played one of the stepsisters in Rodgers and Hammerstein's television musical Cinderella, introducing "Why Would a Fellow Want a Girl Like Her?" with AliceGhostley.

Ballard originated the role of "The Incomparable Rosalie" in the Broadway hit Carnival

She became a popular favorite on American television, most notably in the HILARIOUS, NBC sitcom The Mothers-In-Law.

Ballard enjoyed perennial success in cabarets, nightclubs and regional theatre productions, making return visits to Broadway -- in the title role of the musical Molly, and taking over as "Ruth" in the long-running revival of The Pirates of Penzance.

Her film credits include The Girl Most Likely with Jane Powell, A House Is Not A Home with Shelley Winters, Freaky Friday with Jodie Foster, Which Way To The Front? with Jerry Lewis, andThe Ritz with Rita Moreno and Jerry Stiller.

She has appeared on every talk/variety show there ever was including, The Jack Parr Show, The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, The Steve Allen Show, The Perry Como Show, The Carol Burnett Show, The Mike Douglas Show, and The Muppet Show.

Kaye has also performed Mama Rose in Gypsy with both Jack Cassidy and Gavin MacLeod, and been seen in Papermill's Follies, and two all-star versions of Dan Goggin's Nunsense, Over the River and Through the Woods, Quartet, and Funny Girl and more....

Other credits include several record albums, including the first recording of Charles Schultz' Peanuts characters with Arthur Siegel, Ado Annie in a best selling version of Oklahoma! with Nelson Eddy, and several Ben Bagley compilations.

Kaye is still performing to SOLD-OUT crowds and winning rave reviews, , most recently, in the concert, "STILL AROUND" with Lilliane Montevecchi, which played this August, in Sante Fe.

Her book "How I Lost 10 Pounds in 53 Years" is is affectionate, amazing, and impossible to put down, with stories of Marlon Brando, Lucille Ball, Carol Burnett, Bette Davis, Barbra Streisand, Doris Day, Judy Garland, Rogers and Hammerstein, Paul Lynde, Jimmy Durante, Bert Lahr, and practically everyone else in showbiz. It is a wonderful tribute to a legendary performer...the incomparable...Kaye Ballard.
