Judy Kaye to Headline Encompass New Opera Theatre's Benefit Cabaret, 6/19
On Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at 7:00 PM, two time Tony Award Winning Broadway & Opera Star, Judy Kaye, currently featured as Duchess Estonia Dulworth in Broadway's Nice Work If You Can Get It, sings a solo cabaret act in an intimate Tribeca penthouse with panoramic views of the Hudson River. On the piano will be Dennis Buck, accompanist and collaborator for Jerry Herman, Julie Wilson, Eartha Kitt, K.T. Sullivan, Lucie Arnaz and dozens of other stars.
Judy Kaye's illustrious career has seen her win Tony Awards for the roles of Carlotta in The Phantom of the Opera, and Duchess Estonia Dulworth in Nice Work If You Can Get It, play Rizzo in Grease, create the role of Emma Goldman in Ragtime and garner a Tony Nomination for the lead role of Florence Foster Jenkins in Souvenir. She has also performed leading opera roles with major companies such as The Santa Fe Opera.
This One Night Only event will take place at Mr. Seelig's Penthouse at 66 Leonard Street, New York, NY 10013 (between Church Street & Broadway). Chip Seelig is a former executive of Dune Entertainment/Dune Capital LLC, and has hosted the Encompass Jazz Cabaret Gala for the past four years. Dune Entertainment is an American motion picture financing company affiliated with 20th Century Fox and has played an integral role in the creation of both Avatar movies and many other major blockbusters.
