Desert Island and The Drawing Center are presenting FUNHOUSE, a new, interactive book fair at which guests can make their own books in collaboration with resident cartoonists and illustration artists. Comic Zine Workshops

Two kuš! comic zine workshops, led by artist Oskars Pavlovskis from Riga, Latvia, will be a collaborative comic drawing experience suited for participants 15 and up. There is one each day, taking place during the fair in our Drawing Room gallery.
The workshops will focus on the creation of short experimental comic stories based around the FUNHOUSE theme. Together the participants will take part in creating a unique self-published comic zine, which will be printed and assembled during the workshop and each participant will receive a copy.
About The Drawing Center
The Drawing Center, a museum in Manhattan's SoHo district, explores the medium of drawing as primary, dynamic, and relevant to contemporary culture, the future of art and creative thought. Its activities, which are both multidisciplinary and broadly historical, include exhibitions; Open Sessions, a curated artist program encouraging community and collaboration; the Drawing Papers publication series; and education and public programs.
Hours: Wednesday-Sunday: 12pm-6pm; Thursday: 12pm-8pm.
