Next month, John Raymond Barker will return to The Duplex (61 Christopher St. at 7th Ave.) with his show Jerby with a "Y."  The show is slated to play Saturdays, May 12 and 19 at 9:30PM, and Monday, May 14 at 9:30PM .

Directed by Stephen Aleman and with musical direction and piano accompaniment by Ray Fellman, the show "is a comic, bawdy, yet personal exploration through topics ranging from auditioning to love to sex to politics to family. The music wildly ranges from various musical theatre genres to pop, dance, and even rap," staet press notes.

"The career of John Raymond Barker has never been dull whether it's having been cast as a singing phone sex girl in a bizarre update of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight or as a ghostly ventriloquist in the world premiere of the musical, What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? Additionally, survival jobs have been as thrilling and diverse as Broadway backstage doorman for Doubt to the Meow Mix mascot cat. John swings both ways, actor-wise, having been seen in The Devil's Disciple and A Flea In Her Ear at the Alley Theatre, and Funny Girl and Grand Hotel at Theatre Under The Stars and the 5th Avenue Musical Theatre Co."

The show will also feature choreography by John Eirich, video production by Stephen Aleman and Barker, sound design/remixes by Barker, original photography by Brian Zupanick, original art by DeeAnna Row and Barker, wardrobe design by Row, and with Diana Diaz, John Eirich, Row, Mark Smith and Zupanick as voice actors.

The show is $15 ($10 for AEA and Students with valid card/ID) plus a 2 drink minimum.  Reservations strongly suggested; call (212)255-5438. The evening is recommended for ages 21 and up.
