The Tuesday, January 23rd event at J&R Music and Computer World with actor and stand-up comedian John Pinette has been canceled.

Pinette, who recently appeared on Broadway as Edna Turnblad in Hairspray, was to have signed copies of his new comedy DVD "I'm Starved."

Born just outside of Boston, Massachusetts, Pinette started out as an accountant.  Realizing he could make a living off his talent for humor, he began his comedic career. Pinette got his big break when he was asked to tour with Frank Sinatra, and has become a regular guest on "The Tonight Show" and "The View." His routines primarily revolve around his weight, and his love for the buffet.

Pinette was named Stand-Up Comedian of the Year by the American Comedy Awards in 1999 and received a Gemini Award nomination for his performance at The Montreal Comedy Festival in 2000. Pinette has also enjoyed a successful acting career in both television and film, with credits including feature films Duets, Dear God, and Junior, as well as television shows "Seinfeld" and "Parker Lewis Can't Lose."
