John Montgomery Theatre Company is pleased to donate 100% of the proceeds from their production of Sex Ed by Suzanne Bachner to Planned Parenthood of New York City. Presented in association with John Chatterton as part of his Short Subjects (continued) Festival, Sex Ed performances will be held at Where Eagles Dare Studio Blackbird, 347 West 36th Street (btwn 8th & 9th Avenues, 13th Floor), in New York City from September 19th-30th. Sex Ed is directed and designed by Adam David Steele and features a cast of three: Bob Brader, Judy Krause* and Danny Wiseman*, each of whom play multiple characters.

It's 1984. Three innocent New York City sixth-graders and their private school educators explore the often hilarious and frequently frightening world of sexual education in the classroom and beyond. The classroom heats up as pictographic nudity abounds in this clever and poignant account of sexual stirrings.

Written and developed by Suzanne Bachner as the Resident Playwright at The Actors Institute, Sex Ed was last presented to critical acclaim at the 2nd Annual Midtown International Theatre Festival ("Best of the Fest"), at The Bare Bones Festival @ HERE and at Horse Trade Theater Group. Off Off Broadway Review proclaims Bachner's work "playwriting of the craftiest kind - sharp, unpredictable, shrewd...Bachner's confident writing packs a punch." Theatermania called Sex Ed a "tightly structured piece" that "leaves us wanting more." NYTheatre states Sex Ed is "a success. It is concise, sincere, and thankfully free of cynicism (a rarity these days). And, Bachner is clearly a talented playwright." And, Electronic Link says "Bachner's mastery is once again revealed as she imperceptibly erases the thin line between innocent rebellion and staggering cruelty."

Performances run September 19th-September 30th on the following dates and times:

Wed. 9/23 @ 7pm

Thurs. 9/24 @ 7pm

Mon. 9/28 @ 7pm

Wed. 9/30 @ 7pm

Sex Ed is 45 minutes and is performed without an intermission.

Post-show goodie bag contents are provided by Planned Parenthood of New York City and the legendary NYC sex shop, Come Again Erotic Emporium.
