Long a favorite of fans for his virtuosic hard swinging piano style, John Colianni's resume includes long term stints and collaborations with many jazz and pop music giants, including Lionel Hampton, Mel Torme, and Les Paul to name just a few.

Now Colianni shares his even more impressive gifts as a composer, arranger, and band leader with us with the introduction of the John Colianni Jazz Orchestra.

Colianni pulls off the unusual feat of creating true big band jazz that doesn't sound like a history lesson. This is music that captures the timeless essence of big band jazz - solid blues feeling, great musicianship, and ferocious swing - in new compositions and arrangements that extend a great musical tradition rather than imitate it.

The John Colianni Jazz Orchestra builds on and extends the legacy of big band jazz in a way that is original, innovative.

Join us at APAP for the debut of this exciting new band.
