Joe Gulla's "Sleeping With The Fish" will open the Village Playwrights's "Gay Pride and Prejudice: LGBTQ Stories" this Wednesday, June 22 at the LGBT Community Center. These staged readings of short plays were curated in celebration of Gay Pride. Written by Gulla and directed by Brian Rardin, "Sleeping With The Fish" stars Jason Nuzzo, Laura Daniel Koch and the playwright himself.

"Sleeping With The Fish" tells the story of goodfellas, Don and Ron. After dumping their friend/mafia colleague, Ernesto, off the side of the Staten Island Ferry, Don and Ron take time to evaluate the status of their "relationship".

Gulla says of his play, "It's like Brokeback Mountain... if there were lots of lasagna!"

"Gay Pride and Prejudice: LGBTQ Stories" is currently sold out.

Earlier this year, Joe Gulla won the 2016 Downtown Urban Arts Festival "Audience Award" for the performance of his play "The Bronx Queen" at Joe's Pub at The Public Theater. Gulla returns to Joe's Pub on August 20th.

Tickets for "The Bronx Queen" are $20.00 and available at The Public's Box Office (425 Lafayette, NYC). For more information, visit http://www.joegulla.com or http://www.publictheater.org/en/tickets/calendar/playdetailscollection/joes-pub/2016/j/joe-gulla-the-bronx-queen/?SiteTheme=JoesPub.
