Recognizable screen star and stage performer Joan Ryan will bring her solo cabaret act to the Catalina Jazz Club later this month in a special performance following gigs at 54 Below and Feinstein's At The Regency, also featuring special guest, popular Broadway and film star Eric McCormack, in an evening benefiting the Trevor Project.

More information on Joan Ryan at the Catalina Jazz Club is as follows:

LOS ANGELES, CA (February 18, 2014) -Actress and singer Joan Ryan, who wowed audiences in the West Coast productions of Ruthless!, Anyone Can Whistle, Footloose, Triumph of Love and Little Shop of Horrors brings her electrifying one woman show, which the LA Times calls "A compelling evening of musical excellence rendered with exquisite understanding" to Catalina Jazz Club, Sunday, March 16th. This special evening, which benefits The Trevor Project, the leading national organization of crisis intervention services to LGBT youth, will also feature a special performance by Eric McCormack (Will & Grace, Perception).

Tony, Emmy and Grammy winner John McDaniel (Annie Get Your Gun, Taboo, The Rosie O'Donnell Show) serves as Ryan's Musical Director with Andrew MacBean (associate director with Trevor Nunn - Aspects of Love, Sunset Boulevard) directing.

Named LA's Top Female Cabaret Artist of 2013 by Broadway World, Ryan can also be seen in the hit indie film Hot Guys With Guns which is garnering critical raves on the festival circuit. One of her most familiar roles was as Saved by the Bell's eccentric arts and music teacher Tina Pallodrino and daytime audiences followed her as Kathleen Houghton, the committed and understanding psychiatrist on The Young and the Restless.

Joan has been singled out for praise by critics on both coasts. The LA Times calls her "a mesmerizing performer who moves smoothly from larger-than-life drama to small, captivating emotional moments." The New York Observer's Rex Reed says she "can explore the nuances of a piercing ballad with the investigative talent of a forensic expert, then ignite a show stopping Broadway melody with the combustion of a freight locomotive on the Philadelphia Railroad." Broadway World says simply, "If you get the chance to see her perform anywhere, anytime - take it!"
