Star magazine is revealing that after slowly making her way back into the spotlight with performances at the Super Bowl and Grammys, Jennifer Hudson has announced that she'll be kicking off her first solo tour.

Hudson and R&B singer Robin Thicke will co-headline a five-week tour which will kick off April 2 in Philadelphia and concludes May 8 in Houston reports Star.

On Sunday, Jennifer picked up her first Grammy award for best R&B album. In her acceptance speech she paid tribute to her mother, brother and nephew, who were murdered in Chicago in October - allegedly by her estranged brother-in law describes the website.

"I would like to thank my family in heaven and those who are here today," she said onstage at the Grammys.

Jennifer's exposure during the third season of TV's American Idol in 2004 introduced her to a nation duly impressed with her potent soulfulness.

After Idol, Jennifer auditioned for the part of Effie in Dreamgirls, beat out thousands of contenders for the coveted role and went on to win an Oscar.

The 51st Annual GRAMMY Awards are produced by John Cossette Productions in association with AEG Ehrlich Ventures for The Recording Academy. Ken Ehrlich and John Cossette are executive producers, Walter C. Miller is producer/director, Tisha Fein is the coordinating producer, and David Wild and Ken Ehrlich are the writers.
