Jay Johnson: The Two and Only! is now set to open on Broadway after Labor Day. Exact dates and a theatre will be announced shortly.

The show was previously prepared to begin previews on March 21st at Broadway's Helen Hayes Theatre, but postponed its engagement there to allow Sarah Jones's Bridge & Tunnel to extend. The show received rave reviews during its off-Broadway run at The Atlantic Theatre in 2004, and then played a first hit run in L.A. from January 20th through February 19th. It returned to L.A. at the Burbank Theatre from April 22nd through May 21st. It will also play a run at the American Repertory Theatre in Cambridge, MA from July 12 to August 6th.

Best known for playing the schizophrenic role of Chuck and Bob on the classic television comedy 'Soap,' Johnson said "I can't speak for all the puppets in my show, but I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't looking forward to my spring Broadway debut, but we are all very excited to be playing The Hayes immediately after Sarah Jones' successful run there." According to press notes, "In his 30-year career, Johnson has converted generations of ventriloquist-avoiding Americans with his charm, anarchy and innovative wit. In Jay Johnson: The Two and Only! he deconstructs and demonstrates his lifelong obsession."

Jay Johnson: The Two and Only is directed and co-created by Murphy Cross and Paul Kreppel. It is produced by Roger Alan Gindi, Stewart F. Lane & Bonnie Comley, Dan Whitten, Herbert Goldsmith Productions, and WetRock Entertainment.
