Celebrated cabaret performer Jamie DeRoy brings her MAC Award-winning variety show, Jamie DeRoy & friends, to The Encore (266 West 47th Street) the last Thursday of every month now through June with performances on March 31, April 28, May 26, and June 30 at 7:30 p.m. The colorful cabaret series, which has been thrilling New York City audiences for the past 15 years and serves as the basis for deRoy's award-winning cable television show, spotlights a wide variety of well-known entertainers and newcomers lighting up the theater, musical theater, and comedy worlds.Barry Kleinbort is director of Jamie DeRoy & friends. Lanny Meyers is musical director.

The series begins on March 31 with a glittery line-up including MAC Award-winning songwriter Maria Gentile; MAC Award-winning vocalist Heather Mac Rae; classical pianist Meral Guneyman; singer Maude Maggart; comedian Cory Kahaney; and the acclaimed new musical comedy duo The Farley Brothers.

Guests for the April 28 performance include Broadway's Emily Skinner, Kimilee Bryant and Trent Kendall; comedienne Kate Clinton and singer Glory Crampton.

On May 26, the talented line-up includes the multi-award-winning a cappella group The Accidentals; Grammy Award-winning songwriter Julie Gold; Broadway's Ann Crumb and Euan Morton; comedienne Sherry Davey; and WEA executive John Esposito and his daughter, Jessica.

Jamie DeRoy
is a celebrated comedienne, singer, cabaret performer, actress, producer, and talk show host. Winner of eight MAC Awards, deRoy has been running her critically-acclaimed variety show, Jamie DeRoy & friends, for the past fifteen years at clubs in New York. Her first CD, Jamie DeRoy & friends: The Child in Me, Volume 1, won the 2000 MAC Award for Recording of the Year. Jamie DeRoy & friends: Volume 2: The Child in Me was released in November 2000 and featured Tony winners Faith Prince and Roger Bart. Jamie DeRoy & friends: 'Tis the Season, Volume 3, winner of the 2002 MAC Award for Recording of the Year, became an instant holiday favorite upon its release in December 2001. Her fourth album, Jamie DeRoy & friends: Family, was released in December 2002. Her fifth CD, Jamie DeRoy & friends: Animal Tracks, won the 2004 MAC Award for Recording of the Year, with proceeds benefiting The Humane Society. Her most recent CD, Jamie DeRoy & friends: When I Grow Up, caters to kids ages 5 – 95. All six Jamie DeRoy & friends CDs have been released by Harbinger Records. In addition to her distinctive performing career, deRoy is also an established producer whose credits include the critically acclaimed documentary Broadway: The Golden Age (now available on DVD), Channel Thirteen's Emmy Award-winning City Arts series and numerous Telly Awards for her popular cable TV show.

Maya Days, Lorna Dallas, and Sidney Myer are among the performers scheduled to appear in the June 30 show, with others to be announced.

In addition to these highly-anticipated Thursday evening shows at The Encore, Jamie DeRoy & friends will also enjoy a special one-night-only performance at The Friars Club (57 East 55th Street) on Tuesday, April 12 at 6:00pm. This special engagement will feature Eric Michael Gillett, Klea Blackhurst, Mary Liz McNamara, Andrea Roman, Natalia Zukerman, and Patrice O'Neal.
