Leading Australian theatre producer John Frost and Opera Australia Artistic Director Lyndon Terracini announced they will present a new version of the acclaimed musical thriller Jekyll and Hyde in Australia late in 2015, directed by Christopher Renshaw (The King and I, Legends!) and designed by Gabriela Tylesova (Cosi Fan Tutte, Love Never Dies).

Based on the novel The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson, Jekyll and Hyde was originally conceived for the stage by Frank Wildhorn and Steve Cuden, and features music by Wildhorn, a book by Leslie Bricusse and lyrics by Wildhorn, Bricusse and Cuden. Songs from the musical include Someone Like You, In His Eyes and the glorious anthem This is the Moment.

"After a meeting with John Frost and sparked by his enthusiasm for a reimagined Jekyll and Hyde, we agreed to take another look at our work. We are thrilled that John and Lyndon are going to produce our new Jekyll and Hyde in Australia."

Following a world premiere run in Houston, Texas the musical embarked on a national tour of the United States prior to its Broadway debut in 1997. Many international productions have since been staged including two subsequent North American tours, two tours of the United Kingdom, a concert version and a re-vamped US tour in 2012 ahead of a 2013 revival on Broadway, which starred Constantine Maroulis and Deborah Cox.
