Tonight, March 11, the Iridium Jazz Club is hosting a concert with Pucho Brown and His Latin Soul Brothers.

Bandleader and timbalero Henry "Pucho" Brown is among the architects of Latin soul, pioneering the boogaloo sound alongside the better-known likes of Mongo Santamaria and Willie Bobo. Pucho Brown and His Latin Soul Brothers is a Latin jazz, soul jazz and R&B group formed in 1959 by timbales player Henry "Pucho" Brown. Of the many musicians that worked in his group, Chick Corea is among them. In 1973 Brown disbanded the group and focused more on traditional Latin music. In the 1990s, his music received interest from the British Acid Jazz scene, and the re-formed Latin Soul Brothers perform today.

The Iridium Jazz Club is located at 1650 Broadway (Corner of 51st). Sets are at 8:30 and 10:30PM. For reservations call 212-582-2121 or visit http://www.iridiumjazzclub.com/.
