Insurgo Holds Auditions for New Adaptation of LOVES LABOURS LOST

INSURGO THEATER MOVEMENT ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR LOVES LABOURS LOST

A NEW ADAPTATION OF THE PLAY BY William Shakespeare DIRECTED BY John BeanE

"With the big gig approaching, and the shadow of rock god Don Armado threatening to put them out of business, a debauched Euro-Rock band swears off excess as their club is invaded by an all-girl punk group."

General Notes:

The staging of the play is eurorock meets Shakespeare. Roles are available that focus more heavily on the performance of rock or punk and are available that focus more heavily on the spoken word. The songs include rock, euro rap, opera and punk and will be tailored to the cast.

Rehearsals are generally evenings mon-thur 6-10 with some weekends.

The run is Mar 26th - April 17th, Friday and Saturday nights minimum.

A small stipend is paid to actors and crew.

Audition Info:

Please prepare either a portion of a song acapella or bring in a sampling of your musical ability.

We will read from the script. Sides are available online at insurgotheater.org

Auditions are at the Insurgo Theater 900 E. Karen Ave # D114 in Commercial Center.

Auditions are Monday, February 22 at 6:30 PM and Tuesday, Feb 23 at 6:30 PM

Rehearsals begin immediately following.

NAVARRE - king, late 20's-40's - needs some musical skill, either singing or an instrument

DUMAINE - band member 20's/30's - needs some musical skill, either singing or an instrument

LONGAVILLE- band member 20's/30's - needs some musical skill, either singing or instrument

DON ARMADO - Iggy Pop meets Don Quixote, bizarro rock phenomenon. Some rock singing.

MOTH - Armado's servant, female, honest, overlooked, sings

THE PRINCESS of FRANCE - princess -late 20's-30's - needs some musical skill, either singing or an instrument, majesty

ROSALINE - band member 20's/30's - needs some musical skill, either singing or an instrument, spirited

MARIA- band member 20's/30's - needs some musical skill, either singing or instrument

KATHERINE- band member 20's/30's - needs some musical skill, either singing or instrument

JACQUENETTA - a wench - make that the wench

BOYET - the ladies band manager, gravity, style, twinkle in the eye, etc

MERCADE - attendant to the princess, from a different world

DULL - the cop - bigger than hell. Or smaller than hell.

NATHANIEL and HOLOFERNES - critics, comic
