The Gallery Players in Park Slope are proud to announce new changes in their leadership by welcoming Justine McLaughlin as Managing Director and Mark Harborth as Artistic Director to helm their 49th Season. Both McLaughlin and Harborth have a long history with the organization in various roles including sitting on the Board of Directors.

For decades Gallery has been run by its Board of Directors, a "working" Board responsible for all aspects of keeping the theatre alive. Now, as Gallery verges on its half-century anniversary of operation, this restructuring of leadership is the beginning of more great things to come from New York's "best kept secret".

The 49th Season opens September 12th with the Stephen Schwartz/John-Michael Tebelak musical, Godspell , followed October 24th by August Wilson's 1990 Pulitzer Prize-winning The Piano Lesson. Then, opening during the holiday season, It Runs In The Family by Ray Cooney, author of last season's hit farce Run For Your Wife, followed January 30th by the Ahrens / Flaherty musical, Seussical. After that, starting March 12th, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest by Dale Wasserman. And to cap off the mainstage season, on April 23rd opens the multiple award-winning Hudes/Miranda musical, In The Heights.

The Gallery Players will also present the 19th annual Black Box New Play Festival opening on June 2nd. The festival will premiere new one-act and full length plays by local playwrights - four weeks, four different programs - each play developed and honed through a playwright-driven collaborative process aimed at polishing their craft.

Mainstage tickets are $18 for Adults and $15 for senior citizens, students, and children 12 and under. A variety of subscription plans are available, including the new S/C Subscription for seniors and children. Tickets and subscriptions can be purchased 24/7 online atwww.galleryplayers.com or by calling OvationTix at 212-352-3101 (phone hours 9-9 weekdays, 10-6 weekends). Subscriptions are available until October 4th.

Justine McLaughlin (aka Justine Campbell-Elliott) began her journey with Gallery in 2007 with the 10th Annual Black Box New Play Festival. Since then, she has donned the hat of performer (Bury Him, Hope's Arbor, Thoroughly Modern Millie and Proof,) director (Honey & Candy) and producer (Rent, The Bakers' Wife.) Justine is thrilled to serve as a long-time member of Gallery Players' Board of Directors, current Co-Director of Educational and Family Programming and newly appointed Managing Director. She is especially committed to Gallery's mission to give fellow artists a place to create.

Mark Harborth is a member of the Society of Stage Directors & Choreographers and began his association with Gallery Players in 1996 with his production of Martin Sherman's Bent. That was soon followed by Chess, Angels In America, Noises Off, Jesus Christ Superstar, Sweeney Todd, Clark Gesner's Animal Fair, Wonderful Town, Macbeth, Othello, Merchant Of Venice, Dreamgirls, Medea, Run For Your Wife and Rent. He has served as President of the Board of Directors at Gallery Players , and looks forward to helping Gallery celebrate its 50th Anniversary of bringing quality theater to Brooklyn.
