In this 60 minute video, Luis will teach you basic Latin Dance technique starting with the folkloric element of "Plena". This high energy video introduces the art of Latin motion, rhythm, and style, while utilizing the Jazz foundation.Luis will focus on opening the heart to dance as the first step towards having fun and developing performance skills, all while burning calories and staying healthy! This unique style is brought direct to you from Luis's native home, Puerto Rico.

This class includes isolations, coordination, cardio, strength, and some flexibility exercises. In a very optimistic but challenging way, Luis pushes his students to bring out the best in themselves. Filmed in a classroom format, learning from Luis is made easy as he teaches at a beginner level enabling any dancer to develop an understanding of this style and musicality. Luis Salgado play's "Jose" and is the Latin Assistant Choreographer of the new hit Broadway Musical "In The Heights - BEST MUSICAL 2008 at the Tony Awards. Moved to NY in 2002 dreaming of achieving his passion of performing on a Broadway stage. As of today, Luis has performed in shows like The Mambo Kings (Frankie Suarez), Fame on 42nd Street (Joe Vegas u/s), and Aida among others. Film Credits includes: Step Up 2 The Streets (Alejandro). Dirty Dancing 2 (Diego Luna's Dance Double), Enchanted, Across the Universe, American Gangster and The Great Observer. In 2007 Luis choreographed the musicals Serenade, Shafrika The White Girl, The Drop Outs and Salsa Gorda The Play in NYC he also co-directed/choreographed the original show Mezcla in Peru.
