Hillary Rodham Clinton to Discuss 'What Happened' at Atlanta's Fox Theatre
Hillary Rodham Clinton and Elizabeth Kiss, president of Agnes Scott College, will discuss her recent book WHAT HAPPENED about the unprecedented and historic election of 2016. WHAT HAPPENED is the story of that campaign and its aftermath - both a deeply intimate account and a cautionary tale for the nation.
Hillary Rodham Clinton is the first woman in U.S. history to become the presidential nominee of a major political party. She served as the 67th Secretary of State-from January 21, 2009 until February 1, 2013-after nearly four decades in public service advocating on behalf of children and families as an attorney, First Lady and Senator. She is a wife, mother and grandmother.
Elizabeth Kiss, (pronounced "quiche") began her tenure as the eighth president of Agnes Scott College in August 2006. A 1983 graduate of Davidson College, Dr. Kiss received a B.Phil. and D.Phil. in philosophy from Oxford University in England. A Rhodes Scholar, she has held fellowships at the Harvard Program in Ethics and the Professions, the National Humanities Center and Melbourne University's Centre on Applied Philosophy and Public Ethics. She specializes in moral and political philosophy and has published on moral judgment and education, human rights, ethnic conflict and nationalism, feminist debates about rights and justice and justice in the aftermath of human rights violations. She co-edited and contributed to Debating Moral Education: Rethinking the Role of the Modern University (Duke University Press, 2010).
Hillary Clinton will pull the curtain back on a story that's personal, raw, detailed and surprisingly funny. She'll take the audience with her on a first-person journey and bring a highly personal perspective on what happened during the election and what's next. What theater-goers see will be her story - live... a story of resilience, how to get back up after a loss and how to look ahead.
