Harbor Lights Theater Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Tamara Jenkins and Associate Artistic Director Jay Montgomery, continues the company's third season of professional Equity theater on Staten Island with the area premiere of the Broadway sports drama LOMBARDI, from August 17 -26 at Veterans Memorial Hall at Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Garden (1000 Richmond Terrace).

Eric Simonson's acclaimed play about late Green Bay Packers coach Vince Lombardi is inspired by the best-selling biography "When Pride Still Mattered: A Life of Vince Lombardi" by David Maraniss.

Film and TV Veteran Vito D'Ambrosio (The Untouchables, The Usual Suspects, Harry's Law) heads the company as Vince Lombardi; Broadway's Susan Cella (The Graduate, Evita , Me and My Girl) plays Lombardi's wife, Marie. Also featured are Bruch Reed as Paul Hornung, Isreal McKinney Scott as Dave Robinson, and Erik Gullberg as Jim Taylor. Benjamin Katz plays reporter Michael McCormick. Bob Sorenson directs The Harbor Lights Theater Company production.

More than any other sports figure, Vince Lombardi transformed football into a metaphor of the American experience. The son of an Italian immigrant butcher, Lombardi toiled for twenty frustrating years as a high school coach and then as an assistant at Fordham, West Point, and the New York Giants before his big break came at age forty-six with the chance to coach a struggling team in snowbound Wisconsin. Under Lombardi, the Green Bay Packers won five world championships in nine seasons, the most storied period in NFL history. Lombardi became a living legend -- a symbol of leadership, discipline, perseverance, teamwork, and an obsession with winning.

The creative team for this fully-realized production of Lombardi includes: Marija Plavši? (Set Design); Miodrag Guberinic (Costume Design); Kia Rogers (Lighting Design); Michael Mastromarino (Sound Design and Video/Production Design). Sydney Steele is production stage manager, and Beth Gittleman is Associate Producer. The show features original NFL film footage of Lombardi and the Packers.

Approximate Running Time: 2 hours with one intermission.

Single tickets are $30, $25 for seniors and students. Group rates are available (10 or more). Performances are August 17 at 8pm, August 18 at 2pm and 8pm, August 19 at 2pm, August 23 at 8pm, August 24 at 8pm, August 25 at 2pm and 8pm, and August 26 at 2pm at Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Garden, 1000 Richmond Terrace, Staten Island, NY.
