Haran to Perform in NJ and NY; Also Co-Hosts Brooklyn Show

Cabaret star Mary Cleere Haran will perform at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark on Saturday, January 27.

In "I Love Lyrics," Haran will perform songs by Lorenz Hart, Dorothy Fields, Johnny Mercer, Cole Porter, Al Dubin, Leo Robin and Irving Berlin, among others.

Haran has also been busy lately as a cabaret hostess.  On Monday nights, Haran co-hosts a Brooklyn variety show with composer and musical director Debra Barsha (Radiant Baby).  The guest list has included Michael Feinstein, Rupert Holmes, Terry Jones from Monty Python, Tim Gunn from "Project Runway," and Tituss Burgess (Jersey Boys).  Upcoming guests include Dale Soules (Mary Louise Wilson in Grey Gardens), as well as Steve Buscemi and John Ventimiglia ("The Sopranos").  The shows take place in the Night and Day Room at the Biscuit Barbecue restaurant in Park Slope.

Haran will also sing at the Bay Street Theatre's winter benefit gala on February 26 at the Rainbow Room.

Cleere Haran's albums include "This Funny World," "Crazy Rhythm," "There's a Small Hotel," and "This Heart of Mine." She appeared on Broadway in The 1940s Radio Hour and Off-Broadway in Manhattan Music, Swingtime Canteen and Heebie Jeebies. On TV, she had a recurring role on Sidney Lumet's drama "100 Centre Street" on A&E. She is also a respected writer and researcher who has contributed to numerous PBS specials such as "Irving Berlin's America" and "Remembering Bing."
