The Weddings section of yesterday's New York Times shared the tale of a match made in HEDWIG heaven.

The weekly feature told of the union of Lindsay Barrett Shelton and David Jeremy Pashman, married Saturday evening, but not before the groom had to undergo a 'test' of their compatibility.

Back in November 2014, Ms. Shelton, a huge fan of HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH, used the movie version of the recent Tony winning musical to see if her then boyfriend would accept her love for "punk rock and creating drag costumes." Pashman not only passed the test with flying colors, but used HEDWING a few months later when he proposed on Valentine's Day.

Following a performance of the Broadway show, starring HEDWIG creator John Cameron Mitchell in the titular role, Mr. Pashman arranged for a backstage visit. In front of cast and crew, he presented her with his own version of a "Wig In a Box", a Styrofoam head with a diamond 'skull' ring placed on top.

While neither of the newlyweds can now remember the exact words which were used to pop the question, the bride clearly recalls that Mr. Mitchell attempted to help things along by exclaiming, "Oh, my God, marry him!" along with a profanity. Ms. Shelton tells the Times she was not about to argue with that!
