After 12 weeks of nationally televised auditions, 90 million viewers and millions of votes, America has voted for Laura Osnes and Max Crumm to play the roles of "Sandy" and "Danny" in the new Broadway production of GREASE. The production took in 1 million dollars this past weekend in anticipation of the casting, live on NBC- TV's "GREASE: YOU'RE THE ONE THAT I WANT" on Sunday, March 25, 2007. Produced by Paul Nicholas and David Ian Associates, Nederlander Presentations, Inc. and Phoenix Productions by arrangement with Robert Stigwood, the new Broadway production of GREASE has sold 8 million dollars worth of tickets total.

The show opens on Broadway at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre (256 West 47th Street) on Sunday, August 19, 2007, with preview performances beginning on Tuesday, July 24, 2007. Directed and choreographed by two-time Tony Award winner Kathleen Marshall (The Pajama Game), GREASE features book, music and lyrics by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey.

GREASE, featuring book, music and lyrics by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, is a rock n' roll high school musical celebration of growin' up, cruisin' with friends and goin' steady. The new production Broadway production will feature scenic design by Tony Award nominee Derek McLane (The Pajama Game), costume design by two-time Tony Award winner Martin Pakledinaz (Thoroughly Modern Millie, Kiss Me Kate) and lighting design by Tony Award nominee Kenneth Posner (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Wicked).
