The Harbor Lights Theater Company (HLTC), a professional not-for-profit company under the leadership of Artistic Director Tamara Jenkins and Associate Artistic Director Jay Montgomery, announces Master Broadway Teachers Deidre Goodwin and Kristy Cates to their SUMMER INTENSIVE faculty roster.

“We are thrilled to have these exceptional Master Teachers for our 2012 Theater Intensive. This is one of many way that Harbor Lights brings Broadway to Staten Island and is a great opportunity for the participants to learn from those who have been able to make their own dreams come true through hard work, talent and excellent training, “ Said Tamara Jenkins.

HLTC offers a pre-professional theater training program for serious students ages 11- 18 . The two – week course for theater students, with prior training and experience, will be occurring Monday through Friday, July 29th through August 10th 2012 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Staten Island. Faculty members are all New York Theater and Broadway veterans, making Manhattan style instruction affordable and accessible within the borough of Staten Island.

Ms. Goodwin is best known for playing the role of June in the movie CHICAGO (Cellblock Tango). Her Broadway credits include A CHORUS LINE (Sheila), CHICAGO (Velma Kelly), NINE (Our lady of The Spa), Chita Rivera: A DANCER’S LIFE, and the ROCKY HORROR SHOW, to name a few. Ms. Goodwin will teach the original choreography of “One” from A CHORUS LINE to the students.

Ms. Cates is best known for playing the role of Elphaba in the smash hit WICKED.
