Geoff Moore Debuts THE UNSEEN COBAIN

In 2008, the vault of Kurt Cobain was opened up for one day under tight security and taken to a Los Angeles Studio for Geoff Moore to shoot Kurt's most personal possessions for the book COBAIN UNSEEN by Charles R Cross. For the first time he will show large upscale fine art images from this shoot at KM Fine Arts located at 814 N La Cienega Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90069 taking place simultaneously with photographer Carinthia West's exhibition "Looking Back is the New Forward" depicting candid moments of some of the most iconic figures of all time. A private VIP opening will be held on Wednesday, February 10th from 7:00pm - 10:00pm there-in after the exhibition will be free and open to the public.

After the critical acclaim of book "Cobain Unseen" Geoff Moore is bringing these images to the forefront and "bigger than ever" as these never been seen still life photographs of Cobain's most personal possessions will be blown up for the world to see in Geoff's first solo art exhibition "Endorsement", a phrase written across Kurt Cobain's prized Converse sneakers serving as the center-piece to this most anticipated show. When visual artist Geoff Moore was tapped to shoot imagery for "Cobain Unseen" the contents discovered revealed further insight into one of the most prolific and complex artists of our time. In a high security art storage center, Moore gained access to some of Kurt Cobain's most intimate belongings for the visual biographical book. The still life photographs artist Geoff Moore captured of these precious items created a one-of-a-kind piece of work that gained praise from music writers spanning the nation.

Each image in Moore's "Endorsement" paints an awe-inspiring portrait of Cobain's varying interests as one of the most elusive artists to grace the stage. Some stand-alone images include: "Smash" depicting a broken guitar with hand-written lyrics penned by Cobain; Kurt's journals and last recordings, mythical heart shaped boxes, various doll images that optimized Cobain's interest in human anatomy, and an image of a stuffed monkey holding a tambourine entitled "Kurt's Monkeys #1" illuminating his well known love for monkeys throughout his life. In addition to the Cobain collection, Moore will preview a selection of his cinematic black and white portraits and moments which have defined his style for two decades.

These will include never shown portraits of Anthony Kiedis and Norman Reedus. Los Angeles born photographer and director Geoff Moore creates classic imagery with contemporary innovation. He has left his cinematic mark on the pages of major magazines, award winning MTV videos, TV ad campaigns, photography books, and galleries. He was twice nominated for "Director Of The Year" by age 25 on the MTV and Billboard Awards and his current T Mobile campaign is can be seen across America. He has shot everything from Coach and Diesel campaigns, Heidi Klum to The Red Hot Chili Peppers. His editorial work has been featured in Elle, GQ, and Flaunt. Moore's fine art work has recently been exhibited at Art Miami 2015 (KM Fine Arts) and Art Cologne by Kaune Sposnik Gallery (Germany). In 2013 and 2012, Moore's work was chosen by American Photo as a "Photo Of The Year" to be apart of their prestigious permanent archive.

In 2011, the Lucie Foundation curated an exhibition in Hollywood with Moore and artist Alex Prager called "Facing West- Fashion in the Land of Celluloid". Moore participated in the annual show benefiting the Silverlake Conservatory of Music founded by Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, curated by the Gagosian, Flea, and artist Dana Louise Kirkpatrick (*2015 and 2014). His innovative artistry invites an even more exciting future as he continues his photographic journey.
