Garrett Millerick Will Bring WE TRIED IT YOUR WAY to Edinburgh Festival Fringe
The BBC RADIO 4 DO GOODERS creator will perform at the Baby Grand at the Pleasance.
Creator of hit BBC Radio 4 sitcom, Do Gooders, award-winning comedian Garrett Millerick, will return to Fringe with a unique live comedy experiment. Garrett's partnered with one of the world's leading AI experts to build an AI of himself, putting it to the test to see whether the bot can outperform him at comedy and whether AI is set to replace comedians in the coming apocalypse. If so, maybe then he can finally retire?
Join Garrett and 'Garrett' at the Baby Grand at the Pleasance at 4.35pm from 5th - 30th August for a blistering hour of the no-holds-barred iconoclastic stand up that has made him one of the standout acts of his generation.
Garrett's broadcast credits include a breakout television performance on the legendary US late-night talk show Conan, as well as creating, writing, and starring in two series of BBC Radio 4's sitcom Do Gooders (featuring Frank Skinner, Fay Ripley, Lisa McGrillis, Kathryn Drysdale, Ahir Shah, Ania Magliano, Glenn Moore and Red Richardson), which has received widespread critical acclaim, was shortlisted for two 2025 BBC Audio Drama Awards, and named a critic's choice by The Sunday Times, The Observer, The Telegraph, Radio Times, The Guardian, The Times, The Independent, The Daily Mail and Chortle. Do Gooders topped the BBC Sounds charts, has been hailed by the i newspaper as one of "the 27 best radio comedies ever". Elsewhere in audio, Millerick created and co-hosted the hit podcast Laughable with Jayde Adams and Red Richardson, which was selected by The Guardian as one of the funniest podcasts to listen to during the pandemic.
On stage, Garrett has consistently been recommended as one of the top comedy acts to see at the Edinburgh Fringe. His breakout live show Sunflower was one of the most talked-about shows of the 2018 Fringe and led to his Conan appearance. Since then, he has performed four further shows that transferred to London and toured across the UK (Smile, Just Trying to Help, Never Had it So Good, and Garrett Millerick Needs More Space). Smile and Just Trying to Help were both sell-out tours with extended runs, with The Times naming Smile as one of the standout shows of 2019. Smile, Just Trying to Help and Never Had it So Good have all been recorded by 800 Pound Gorilla Records for international streaming and purchase. Garrett's last hour, Garrett Millerick Needs More Space, was his biggest tour to date and was selected by The Telegraph as one of the best autumn tours of 2024.
