Film and theatre star Gaby Hoffman has replaced the previously-announced Kelli Garner in Eric Bogosian's SubUrbia, which will be presented at Second Stage from September 7th through October 29th.

Garner withdrew from the cast of young actors to work on the film Lars and the Real Girl.

The show will also star Kieran Culkin (films such as Igby Goes Down, Off-Broadway's After Ashley and The Moment When), Diksha Basu, Jessica Capshaw (Fat Pig), Michael Esper (Manic Flight Reaction), Halley Feiffer, Daniel Eric Gold (The Paris Letter), Manu Narayan (Bombay Dreams) and Peter Scanavino (Shining City).  Jo Bonney (Some Girl(s), A Soldier's Play), who is married to Bogosian, will direct.

"Eric Bogosian's groundbreaking and bitterly funny play subUrbia examines a day in the life of seven rootless young Americans who gather in the parking lot of a Pakistani family's convenience store," state press notes. The play, which premiered at Lincoln Center Theatre in 1994, will be updated for this production.

A former child actress, Hoffman's stage credits include Third at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theatre and The Sugar Syndrome at the Williamstown Theatre Festival.  Her film credits include Perfume, You Can Count on Me, 200 Cigarettes, Volcano, Everyone Says I Love You, Now and Then, The Man Without a Face, Sleepless in Seattle and Field of Dreams.

Bogosian's other plays include Wake Up and Smell the Coffee, Sex, Drugs and Rock & Roll, Talk Radio, and Drinking in America.
