The Lightning Field, a critically-acclaimed play by David Ozanich (Sex Farce, Skating Becomes Vermoutha) that won Outstanding Play in the 2005 New York International Fringe Festival, will extend its run; the show will now play 9 more performances from September 12th through 28th at the Flea Theatre (41 White Street between Broadway and Church Street). It originally played at that theatre in a limited run from August 13th to 28th.

"The constant shifting and re-definition of the American family is at the core of The Lightning Field's story," according to notes on the show. " In a world where marriage and relationships no longer mean what they did a generation ago, the play explores the new American family. How did we get here? With the looming possibility of a marriage proposal, a gay New York couple – Sam and Andy – make a pilgrimage to Walter De Maria's world famous art installation, The Lightning Field in New Mexico. When they realize that their relationship mirrors that of their divorced parents, the resulting storm is an explosion of startling and raw emotions."

Staged by Jared Coseglia (assistant director for Broadway's Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks, director of Floyd Collins at the Berkshire Theatre Festival), the show features Ron McClary (Summer '69: The Musical, "Law and Order") as Gerrit; Bekka Lindström (African Nights) as Lori, Cory Grant (Berkshire Theatre Festival's The Who's Tommy) as Andy; and H. Clark (So Long I Can't Remember) as Sam. The Lightning Field is presented by BANNER New York.

The show's performance schedule is Monday, September 12th at 7PM, Tuesday, Sept. 13th at 9PM, Wednesday, Sept. 14th at 9PM, Monday, Sept. 19th at 9PM, Tuesday, Sept. 20th at 9PM, Wednesday, Sept. 21st at 9PM, Monday, Sept. 26th at 7PM, Tuesday, Sept. 27th at 9PM, and Wednesday, Sept. 28th at 9PM.
