There's no doubt about it. Michael Holland is a major Gashole. Along with his partner-in-crime, Karen Mack, he is responsible for the cult cabaret hit Gashole. A multiple MAC award winner and the recipient of the 2004 OutMusic Outstanding Songwriter of the Year award, Holland's first full-length musical, Believe in Me…A Bigfoot Musical, will premiere this year at the New York International Fringe Festival.

When asked if he had any words regarding the experience of putting together a musical from scratch, Holland laughingly said, 'DON'T DO IT!' Although it's a daunting experience, he is pleased with its progress.

"It's really going well. Everyone is working their asses off. They're amazing. We're so lucky to get this cast."

And what a cast it is. Because of Holland's ties to the cabaret community, he has been able to assemble a cast of such talented vocalists as David Gurland, Audrey Lavine, Michael Vaccaro and Jonathan Tomaselli, as well as rising Broadway talents Christina Norrup and Jamie LaVerdiere (both of THE PRODUCERS).

Word on the street is that all of the performances for Believe in Me have been sold out. But be sure to watch for added performances.

Is it possible that this quirky show is the next Urinetown? Stay tuned, kids!
