FORSLUND THEATRICALS LLC, John Daniel Forslund, and Rebecca Black will present a staged reading of Spellbound!: A New Musical Fairytale by emerging musical-theater writer Ben Boecker.

Directed by Bryan Burton, Spellbound! is a brand new musical fairytale about the follies of perfectionism and the power of true love. The cast features Stephanie Linas, Carter Lynch* (AEA), Vanessa Moyen, Gillian Hassert, Hannah Dowdy, Anna Rose, Scott Vicari and Pilar Rehnart.

The musical features book, lyrics and music by Ben Boecker. Boecker holds accomplishments as a musical director, baritone, and composer/lyricist and is a second-year member of the BMI Musical Theater Writing Workshop.

"Andrietta O'Doyle is a real live witch, but she doesn't want to be. She'd much rather search for Mr. Perfect, the six-foot-tall, size-eleven footed man of her dreams...whom she just hasn't met yet. On the night before her 21st birthday, she runs away from her three evil aunts, Henrietta, Hermietta, and Carmaletta, and embarks on a romantic adventure through the woods of New Hampshire that will change her life. An unusually strong old woman, an extreme gardener named Hunter, and a robotic Love-Machine help (and hinder) Andrietta along the way, as she battles against tradition to discover the meaning of true love in this musical parody of all classic fairytales."

The readings will be held on April 21st and April 28th at 7 PM at The West End, 955 West End Avenue at 107th and Broadway. Tickets are $20 ($15 AEA discount) and can be reserved by emailing spellboundreservations@gmail.com or calling 704.813.8774. Tickets will be paid for at the door (cash or credit card) and there will be a $15 food/drink minimum. Doors open at 6:15 PM for each performance and seating is on a first come, first serve basis.
