DOWNTON ABBEY star and notable stage and screen actor Hugh Bonneville took to the stage for a special string of performances as none other than God himself in the current UK production of SPAMALOT beginning this week.

Bonneville will play the heavenly part for a week-long run as part of a promotion to raise money for Scene & Heard, a North London Charity.

Bonneville kicked off his week of performances on July 15, posing for photos with the poster as well as backstage with fellow cast-members Bonnie Langford and Joe Pasquale before hitting the stage.

Soaking up the spotlight, Bonneville makes a hammy and endearing overseer for a wedding between a certain knight and Lady Of The Lake before joining in with the cast for a verse of the rollicking SPAMALOT hit tune "Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life" and taking in the rousing applause.

Bonneville's participation in the new "even sillier" 2012 production of SPAMALOT at The Playhouse Theatre marks the inaugural week of the so-billed "SPAMALOT Summer Of The Gods," continuing with other celebrities following him in the new revival in the coming weeks at the intimate London theater space.
