Theater is my passion – including all theater, plays, musicals, cabaret, and performance art. I will be on the town reporting on the greatest New York has to offer. Once a month I plan on interviewing all theater people from Musical Directors, to Actors, Cabaret Singers to Producers.

I hope to entertain you in this column so please write to me and let me know who you want to learn about. Your ideas will be appreciated and will help in our coverage of the parties, the events, the openings and the shows.

New York is a great place to visit. I love New York Theater, New York culture and hope that you will come to New York and take advantage of this great City. If you haven't guessed by now - I LOVE NY! New York has wonderful theater from Broadway, to Off Broadway to Off Off Broadway. I plan on covering it all.

Hairspray3_sized.jpg" />A Few Notes - Behind the scenes at the 48th Annual Drama Desk Awards I spent a lot of time talking to the one and only Kerry Butler. She is adorable and is filled with so much energy, warmth and spunk. I was very disappointed that she did not win a Drama Desk as I found her to have the best voice in Hairspray. Don't get me wrong everyone in Hairspray was good, but Kerry is in a class by herself. I only wish that I had the power to vote!

I also chatted with Marylouise Burke from Kimberly Akimbo and in the past Fuddy Meers and Into The Woods. She was so sweet, charming, really funny (and not just because I let her cut me on the long bathroom line)We chatted about all of her work in the theater; I adored her in everything she has been in. She is a wonderful actress and a nice person and I hope to interview her sometime soon.

I also spent a lot of time with the creators of Zanna Don't - what a terrific bunch of guys. I plan on interviewing Tim and Alexander in the near future. At the nomination party I talked to Kerry and Marissa (also a sweet heart.) I loved her speech at the Drama Desk Awards…Let's hear it for short talented women everywhere! WOO HOO! Unfortunately I did not get to speak with Denis O' Hare at the awards but I did speak to him at the nominations party and we bonded. He is a very talented man and a great person. I admire his acting talents and saw him twice in Take Me Out!

The greatest thing about the Drama Desk Awards is they are not as stuffy as most award shows. They have a family and friendly feel. People on the whole are friendly and everyone seems to have a good time.
