Fame Becomes Me Cast Album Set for April 10 Release

Ghostlight Records, a division of Sh-K-Boom Records, will release the original cast album of the recent Broadway hit Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me on April 10th.

The show's original cast--Short, Brooks Ashmanskas, Mary Birdsong, Capathia Jenkins, Nicole Parker and Marc Shaiman--recorded the album on November 20th, 2006 at Sear Sound Studios in Manhattan.

"As the producer of the Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me Original Broadway Cast Album, I have the serious goal of taking a group of performers who rely on oversized props and nightly shameless mugging for a laugh, and creating an exciting aural representation of the show," stated Shaiman. "Luckily, I'm equal to the task! Fame Becomes Me, which opened at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre on August 17th and closed on January 7th, 2007 after a critically acclaimed limited run, featured "Short in a comic tour de force guiding us through an improbable version of his life story.
