Three-time Emmy Award-winner Edie Falco, Tony Award-winner Dick Latessa, Tony Award-nominee Brooks Ashmanskas and A Catered Affair's Matt Cavenaugh have joined the line-up of performers participating in the upcoming New York Times 'TimesTalk event,' "Harvey & Family," celebrating the career of four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein, at the new TimesCenter (242 West 41st St.) on Tuesday, April 1st at 6:00 p.m.

The evening, a conversation between Fierstein and moderator, the journalist Jesse Green, will feature readings and performances from Fierstein's plays and musicals, including his latest, A Catered Affair, for which he wrote the book and also stars.  A Catered Affair began previews on Tuesday with an opening night set for Thursday, April 17 at the Walter Kerr Theatre (219 West 48th St.).

For the TimesTalk event, Ms. Falco and Mr. Ashmanskas will be reading scenes from Fierstein's plays Safe Sex and Torch Song Trilogy (the latter debuted on Broadway 25 years ago this spring).  Mr. Latessa and Mr. Cavenaugh will be performing a scene from La Cage Aux Folles, for which Fierstein wrote the book.

As previously announced, the "Harvey & Family" TimesTalk will also feature A Catered Affair star Faith Prince and composer John Bucchino.

This special TimesTalk event is being produced in celebration of the 25th anniversary of New York's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center.

Tickets for the event can be obtained at TimesTalks.com or by calling (888) NYT-1870.

Directed by Tony Award-winner John Doyle, A Catered Affair has an opening night set for 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 17.  The production stars Tony Award-winner Prince as 'Aggie Hurley,' the mother- of-the-bride, Tony Award-nominee Tom Wopat as 'Tom Hurley,' the father-of-the-bride, Fierstein as 'Winston,' the uncle-of-the-bride, Leslie Kritzer as 'Jane Hurley,' the bride-to-be and Matt Cavenaugh as 'Ralph Halloran,' the groom-to-be.  The featured cast includes Philip Hoffman, Katie Klaus, Heather Mac Rae, Lori Wilner and Kristine Zbornik.

Scenic Design is by David Gallo, Costume Design is by Ann Hould-Ward and Lighting Design is by Brian MacDevitt.  Orchestrations are by Jonathan Tunick, Sound Design is by Dan Moses Schreier, Projection Design is by Zachary Borovay and Hair Design is by David Lawrence.

A Catered Affair asks the question that inevitably faces every mother and daughter: Whose wedding is it anyway?  The musical tells the story of a Bronx mother's efforts to give her only daughter the elaborate wedding she never had – and the bride never asked for.  Faith Prince, Tom Wopat and Harvey Fierstein star in this funny, poignant and oh, so human show of love and disaffection.  Harvey Fierstein's book and John Bucchino's score explore both our need for love and the true meaning of family.

A Catered Affair
is produced on Broadway by Jujamcyn Theaters, Jordan Roth, Harvey Entertainment/Ron Fierstein, Richie Jackson, Daryl Roth, John O'Boyle/Ricky Stevens/Davis-Tolentino, Barbra Russell/Ron Sharpe in association with the Frankel-Baruch-Viertel-Routh Group, Broadway Across America, True Love Productions, Rick Steiner/Mayerson-Bell-Staton-Osher Group, Jan Kallish, Stacey Mindich and Rhoda Mayerson.  The musical is based on the Turner Entertainment motion picture distributed by Warner Brothers and written by Gore Vidal, and the original teleplay by Paddy Chayefsky.

The musical premiered at The Old Globe, San Diego, where it swept the San Diego Critics Circle Awards with 7 wins, including Best New Musical, Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Score and Best Director. For more information please visit www.ACateredAffairOnBroadway.com.
