FOUR A.M. Presents TORNADO OF JUSTICE VS. DANGLING CARROT, 2/14 Image

On the occasion of the expiration of our lease, FOUR A.M. is pleased to present, Tornado of Justice vs. Dangling Carrot by Adam Shecter. His new animation will be our final show at the window at 291 Grand Street on view through February 14, 2017.

Conceived less as an artwork than a diary entry, the Tornado of Justice was first realized in an animation by the artist for Moveon.org and the Women's March 2017. Shecter's recent animation explores the multiple failures of our new administration, artists' often incongruous relationship to the art world, and our reaction of renewed engagement and activism.

The artist invited a handful of friends and previously exhibited artists at FOUR A.M. to submit their concerns about the new administration and to reflect on the ways Trumpisms are reflected in the art world. "I was heartened to see so many artists stepping up, fighting, donating and marching. I also want to think about how Trump's America is a mirror of the art world we operate in: insular, moneyed, unregulated, exploitive and white. Can we live our politics better as artists? Or will dangling carrots keep us from standing together?"

This animation is an unlimited edition. Get your copy by making a donation to one of the organizations below in any amount and sending a copy of your receipt to us by email.
