FABLES FOR OUR TIMES — THE NEXT CHAPTER Will Come to Portland This Month
The performance is on May 30.
Foxhole Projects will return to the Ethos Music Center stage with an all-new chapter of inventive storytelling, music, and mythic imagination. Fables For Our Times — The Next Chapter brings fresh work from dynamic Portland playwrights and artists for two matinee performances only. The performance is on May 30 at 7:30pm.
This program debuts scenes from Pink Ribbons a new musical work in progress that centers the experiences of a single Black lesbian in Portland by Supremia Bostick, then dig into scenes from Tiamanticus, the fierce and funny new mystic coming-of-age story by Afua Banful that follows a reckless teen who summons an even more reckless demon, and finally, scenes from Sunset Stripped a play set in 1990’s Los Angeles by Jed Sutton who directs.
Weaving together satire, fantasy, sex, politics, and the supernatural, Fables For Our Times — The Next Chapter continues Foxhole Project’s commitment to idea-driven plays and works in progress that challenge and delight. With vivid performances and stories that blend the personal with the mythic, this evolving showcase captures the spirit of myth and world-building.
