Euan Morton Performs at Joe's Pub March 20 & April 3; Solo Album Released March 21

Independent recording label Lyric Partners has announced the March 21, 2006 release date of Euan Morton's debut solo album, "NewClear."

Recorded earlier this year in New York and Virginia, "NewClear" (co-produced by Morton along with David Nehls and Mae Robertson) contains 10 tracks consisting of both new songs and covers of some of Morton's favorite tunes.

Morton will also celebrate the release of "NewClear" with three performances at Joe's Pub in New York City. Performances are Monday, March 20 at 9:30 p.m. and Monday, April 3 at 7:00 and 9:30 p.m.

Morton, a native of Bo'ness, Scotland, earned a Tony nomination and a Theatre World Award for his performance in Taboo; he also received an Olivier Award nomination for originating the role in London. Morton is currently appearing onstage at The Public Theater in Measure For Pleasure, and will soon reprise the title role in Maurice Sendak and Tony Kushner's adaptation of Brundibar at The New Victory Theater (having originated the part at Berkley Rep). Over the past two years, he has performed several sold-out concerts in New York City at Joe's Pub, The Zipper Theatre and Town Hall, as well as at The Signature Theatre in Arlington, VA.

Morton's band consists of David Nehls (keyboards), David Matos (lead guitar), Paul Ranieri (bass), Damien Bassman (drums and percussion) and David Mann (saxophone).
