Esparza, Butz, Breaker, O'Hara & More to Perform in MISCAST 2009 on March 9
MCC THEATER (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey, Artistic Directors; William Cantler, Associate Artistic Director; Blake West, Executive Director) is pleased to announce another all-star line-up for the company's annual gala, to be held Monday, March 9, 2009 at The Hammerstein Ballroom (311 West 34th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues). As in years past, Miscast 2009 will bring together the best and brightest Broadway talent as they perform songs from roles in which they would never be cast. Kathleen Turner, currently starring in MCC's production of The Third Story, will serve as the evening's Honorary Chair. All proceeds go directly to MCC's production, play development, education and outreach programs.
This year's event honors producer Elizabeth I. McCann for her commitment to producing new work and reaching new audiences both on and Off Broadway. As a producer, she has won 8 Tony Awards for: The Goat, Copenhagen, A View from the Bridge, Dracula, The Elephant Man, The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby, Morning's at Seven and Amadeus. She is currently represented on Broadway by the upcoming Hair and recently produced the revival of Equus starring Daniel Radcliffe.6:30 p.m. Cocktails and Silent Auction
