"Midsummer Night's Dreaming" is Brooklyn-based DreamStreet Theatre Company's contemporary(ish) twist on William Shakespeare's tale of runaway brides, funky fairies and tinkers with talent.

This event is the company's first classical production and will take place today, June 12 & Saturday, June 13 at 7:30pm at the Leonard Nimoy Thalia at Peter Norton Symphony Space, 2537 Broadway at 95th Street, New York, NY 10025. Advance tickets are available online at http://www.symphonyspace.org/event/8818/Theatre/midsummer-nights-dreaming

DreamStreet Theatre Company, a 501(c)(3) organization, was founded in 2001 by Karuna Heisler to bring the joy of theatre to special needs performers at a time when access to the arts was very limited for those with different abilities. Since Karuna passed away, her husband and daughter, Len and Kendra Heisler, in collaboration with Artistic Director Aubrie Therrien, continue to support and nurture DreamStreet and Karuna's legacy.

DreamStreet has evolved into an important creative resource in the special needs community. The company's mission is to develop a socially creative community for special needs individuals with a passion for performance to grow their talents and show the world just how uniquely able they are. DreamStreet cast members have demonstrated the philosophy that maximum self-expression leads to maximum self-esteem, leading cast members to become role models in the special needs community. DreamStreet's live performances attempt to break down stereotypes so audiences can witness the talent of the performers and not simply see a face of disability. See more at www.dreamstreetnyc.org
