Dr. Debbye Turner Bell of CBS News Serve As Guest Host of the Bideawee Gala 6/7

Dr. Debbye Turner Bell of CBS News and ‘resident veterinarian' of CBS News' "The Early Show" will serve as the Guest Host for Bideawee's Annual Gala on June 7, 2010. Dr. Turner Bell is a compassionate animal lover and nationally recognized broadcast journalist offering advice on quality pet care and responsible pet ownership.

Bideawee's Monday Night Gala, to be held on June 7, 2010, in Manhattan is the organization's annual, premier fundraising event that celebrates animal welfare and the Bideawee mission to promote and support safe, loving, long-term relationships between people and companion animals

Dr. Turner Bell has been a broadcast journalist and correspondent with CBS News since 2001. In addition to her regular veterinary reporting segments on "The Early Show," she covers a variety of breaking and developing news stories for the CBS Evening News, as well as other CBS News programs. Dr. Turner Bell also hosts the prime time television magazine program, "48 Hours on WE." Prior to joining CBS, she co-hosted the local magazine program, "ShowMe St. Louis," and hosted "The Gentle Doctor" about pet care and veterinary medicine on PBS.

Dr. Turner Bell's passion as a motivational speaker takes her across the country to discuss personal excellence, determination, goal setting and the importance of a solid education. Since being crowned Miss America in 1990, she has spoken to more than half a million students at hundreds of schools, youth organizations and college campuses nationwide.

Bideawee Gala 2010

The Bideawee Gala features cocktails, seated dinner and dancing. Awards are presented to those individuals that have made a difference in the lives of homeless pets and pet adoption.
