Denver Center '07 Season Includes Little Mermaid Premiere

Denver Center Attractions has announced its 2007 season of shows to be performed at the The Denver Center for the Performing Arts--a line-up that includes the world premiere of The Little Mermaid.

Based on the 1989 animated classic about a young woman who longs to trade her fins for legs, Disney's stage production will be helmed by acclaimed opera and theatre director Francesca Zambello.  Although no specific dates have been set, it will play the Denver Center for the Performing Arts' Ellie Caulkins Opera House in summer of 2007The Little Mermaid features a book by Doug Wright, and a score by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman; Menken has added new songs.

Denver Center Attractions will also present: The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Jan. 16-28, 2007; Legends!, starring Joan Collins and Linda Evans, Feb. 6-18; Spamalot, Sept. 18-Oct 7; The Light in the Piazza, March 27-April 8; A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, May 17-July 8; Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Oct. 16-28, 2007; and White Christmas, Nov. 20-Dec. 25.
