Deadline Extended for FABnyc Storefront Artist Residency FABnyc is pleased to announce our first residency program available to NYC based artists to develop their work on East 4th Street in the Lower East Side from January 1 - March 31, 2018. The Residency is intended for one artist or collective, preferably with a strong connection to the LES. The residency should include at least one public engagement element. FABnyc is prepared to assist projects which seek to partner with a local cultural or community organization. We strongly encourage people of color and residents of the Lower East Side to apply.

About the site
- Location: 61 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue and Bowery.
- Specifications: 10 x 12' street facing storefront with a tall ceiling.
- The studio space is next to Cooper Square Committee, tenant organizers who developed the first Community Land Trust in NYC on this block, and lies within the East 4th Street Cultural District.

What does this residency provide?
- Access to the storefront during CSC business hours and from 10am-6pm most Sundays.
- Access to Downtown Art's spaces for meetings, small gatherings, or as a venue for projects.
- A stipend of $1000.
- Access to Materials for the Arts.
- Production support from FABnyc staff.
- Access to FABnyc's community of partners in the LES.

Application Deadline: December 11, 2017 - Midnight EST
Finalist Interviews: December 18 and 19, 2018
Results: December 21, 2018.

We implement this mission through a range of programs and collaborations with local cultural organizations, independent artists, community-based organizations and neighborhood nonprofits.
