David Hare's Stuff Happens Opens at the Public, April 13

David Hare's political drama Stuff Happens will open at the Public Theater on April 13th. The play, which began previews on March 28th, was recently extended through May 28th (April 30th was the original closing date).

Directed by Tony Award-winner Daniel Sullivan (Proof, Rabbit Hole), the star-studded cast features Byron Jennings (A Touch of the Poet, Twelve Angry Men) as British Prime Minister Tony Blair, Jay O. Sanders (Lone Star Love) as George W. Bush, Tony Award-nominee Jeffrey DeMunn (K2, Last Days of Judas Iscariot) as Donald Rumsfeld, Zach Grenier (Voices in the Dark) as Dick Cheney, Peter Francis James (On Golden Pond) as Colin Powell, and Gloria Reuben ("ER") as Condoleezza Rice, as well as George Bartenieff, Glenn Fleshler, Lameece Issaq, Ken Marks, David Pittu, Thomas Schall, Armand Schultz, Robert Sella, Brenda Wehle, and Waleed F. Zuaiter.

The play brings back to The Public a writer whose roots here run deep. David Hare began working at The Public in 1971, and his play Plenty was a landmark in both his history and The Public's. During the production, he will be in residence incorporating new material into the script that speaks to recent political events.

Stuff Happens pays Tuesday through Saturday at 8:00pm, Saturday and Sunday at 2:00pm and Sunday at 7:00pm. Please note: For the week of Tuesday, April 25th, the show will play Tuesday through Saturday at 8:00PM, Wednesday at 12:00PM and Saturday and Sunday at 2:00PM. Additionally, there will be post-show discussions on the following Tuesdays: April 4th, April 11th April 18th and April 25th.
