David Brian Colbert will be joining the cast of Broadway luminaries such as Marc Kudisch, Emily Skinner, Daniel Reichard, Tony Yazbeck, Jeffry Denman and Sarah Jane McMahon as well as opera star John Easterlin and a host of others in the Sixth Annual Broadway Unplugged Concert at Town Hall.
Colbert, a newcomer to the New York Theatre scene, was most recently seen at New World Stages in Broadway Cares' benefit production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch. A role he has performed around the country for several years, garnering several theatrical awards along the way. The sold out show raised $14,800 for the charity and left the audience on it's feet for David Brian Colbert's staring performance. This Monday, Colbert will be going from the extremely "plugged in" performance of punk rock music in a 350 seat black box to the 1,500 seat Concert Hall of Town Hall, singing from the Great American Song Book sans microphone . In another twist, Colbert is no stranger to the value of amplification. He serves as Technical Director, giving lights and sound to Broadway's Best at two of New Yorks better known cabaret clubs, The Laurie Beechman Theatre and The Metropolitan Room. Now, he'll harken back to a time when this particular job was in much less demand.Videos
