Daniel Radcliffe Gets Candid About Drinking Problem

Currently starring in HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING on Broadway, Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe is busy promoting the release of the upcoming summer blockbuster: 'The Deathly Hallows Part II.' In a recent interview with British GQ, Radcliffe chatted about a drinking problem that developed over the course of his 'Potter' career and how he kicked it.

Radcliffe said: "I became reliant on [alcohol] to enjoy stuff. There were a few years there when I was just so enamored with the idea of living some sort of famous person's lifestyle that really isn't suited to me."

He continued, "As much as I would love to be a person that goes to parties and has a couple of drinks and has a nice time, that doesn't work for me. I'd just rather sit at home and read, or go out to dinner with someone, or talk to someone I love, or talk to somebody that makes me laugh."

In the very final installmant of the series (released in theatres on July 15), Harry battles Lord Voldemort one final time in hopes of saving the wizarding world from a terrible fate. In the meantime, catch Harry Potter himself in HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING, which opened Sunday, March 27, 2011, at Broadway's Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street).

The playing schedule from February 26 through March 27 is as follows: Monday through Saturday at 8pm, with matinees Wednesday and Saturday at 2pm. Beginning March 28 the playing schedule is as follows: Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7pm, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturday at 8pm, with matinees Wednesday and Saturday at 2pm and Sunday at 3pm.
