Back by popular demand, WattsWords Productions presents Daniel J. Watts' THE JAM: Spoken Word Preserves. Fresh off the heels of a sold out performance in November, Daniel J. Watts (HAMILTON, WHORL INSIDE A LOOP, HBO's VINYL) will remount his original JAM for one night only at The Studio at Webster Hall, Monday, February 15th at 8pm (7:30pm doors).

On July 27, 2014, Watts, alongside WalkRunFly Productions and over 100 Broadway performers teamed up in Times Square following the death of Eric Garner. Now, the eight Broadway show veteran has decided to deliver a more focused narrative.

Watts says, "This JAM is a look-back at my experiences growing up in the South, encounters with friends, family, and police, and recognizing positive role models in television programming, all while navigating through predominantly white environments. These memories propel me to continue the conversation that began with the flash mob. Just a heads up, this JAM ain't sweet!"

A play-on-words, THE JAM pays homage to his great-grandmother, who after making jam from scratch would share with others what she was unable to consume herself. THE JAM is Watts' continuation of that legacy, featuring his original spoken word sometimes set to music and/or dance.

Incorporating fellow multi-faceted actor/singer/dancer/musicians, the spoken word experience is elevated by Gilbert L. Bailey, II (Book of Mormon) as conductor/keyboardist/vocals, Derrick Baskin (Whorl Inside A Loop, Hulu's Difficult People) as lead vocalist, Preston Dugger, III aka DJ Duggz (Motown, Memphis), Ephraim Sykes (Hamilton, HBO's Vinyl) on drums/vocals, Taharqa Patterson (Lights Out On Broadway) on guitar/vocals, and Voltaire Wade-Greene (Hamilton) on bass/vocals.

Webster Hall is located at 125 E. 11th St. (between 3rd and 4th Aves). Tickets can be purchased at www.websterhall.com. Admission: $20 Adv Standing Room. $30 Adv General Seating. $50 Adv Premium Seating (includes express admission plus one drink ticket). All ticket prices will increase $5 on the day of the performance.

Watts in an effort to urge communities to actively engage in focusing on their social similarities opposed to their differences. For more information visit www.wattswords.com.
